Safari Overview:

This safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park – the world’s most biodiversity wildlife sanctuary featuring climbing lions, leopard, hippos, elephants, buffaloes not forgetting the beautiful launch cruise along Kazinga channel. Later you will continue to Bwindi Impenetrable forest where you will be highly inspired by the sight of the giant mountain gorillas.

Detailed Safari Itinerary:

DAY 1: Travel to Queen, Game Drive, Launch Cruise:
Pick up at your hotel very early morning and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha. A game drive en-route may reward you with views of Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.

In the afternoon, enjoy the unique evening 2-hour launch cruise on Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. The trip passes through the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. The launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.

Travel time: about 7-8 hours

DAY 2: Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:
After breakfast, depending on the nature of the road, depart the lodge with picnic lunches for a mid morning game drive in QENP’s southern Ishasha sector famous for its resident tree climbing lions. Have lunch at the Ishasha Wilderness camp and embark on another game drive in search of the tree climbing lions, continue southwards towards Bwindi Forest National Park. Relax around your preferred lodge.

DAY 3: Gorilla Tracking, and Village walk:
After an early morning breakfast and guide briefing, set off for your gorilla tracking in the forests of Bwindi. This Park is best known for the fascinating gorillas, where the time taken to find them and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates. Though the time spent to track down these Gorillas is unpredictable, the thrill of spending time and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure that will leave you with long lasting memories of a truly unique experience. The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they play and interact.

A packed lunch, drinking water will be carried along as you track, comfortable boots or sturdy shoes, as well a light rain jacket are also important due to the unpredictable weather of Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Walking sticks will be available from the park rangers. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle giants. In the evening, proceed to the village for a cultural walk to interact with the local people. Participate in captivating traditional performances presented by Women’s groups or orphan children groups. Note that the fees you pay for these performances go directly to improve the welfare of families around the park.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala;
After breakfast we shall drive back to Kampala, stopping enroute for lunch and proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening..
